Tennis: Wawrinka beats Shapovalov to reach the World Tennis Tournament semi-finals

Stan Wawrinka advanced to the semi-finals of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam following a straight-sets win over Denis Shapovalov. Wawrinka secured a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win over the 19-year-old Canadian in one hour and 30 minutes. That victory saw Wawrinka avenge his defeat in the pair's only other meeting in 2018, when Shapovalov came from one set down to claim a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win at the Japan Open. Next up for Wawrinka is a semi-final against the winner of Kei Nishikori's quarter-final against Marton Fucsovics.
