Yoshihito Nishioka fought back from a set down to beat Ugo Humbert in the opening round of the Lyon Open on Monday. Nishioka saved five set points in the eighth game of the opening set, only for Humbert to serve it out in the next game. The Frenchman suffered the only break of the second set though, in the eighth game, and Japan's Nishioka then held serve to level the match. The world number went on to break for 5-4 lead in the deciding set before closing out a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory with a backhand volley winner. Next up for Nishioka is second round match with either fifth seed Gael Monfils or Lloyd Harris.
