Defending champion Rafael Nadal eased past Dusan Lajovic 6-1 6-3 to secure a quarter-final spot in the Italian Open. The second seed was barely threatened on the clay by his Serbian opponent as he seeks a 10th title in Rome. The Spaniard will take on Argentine Diego Schwartzman in the last-eight and has won all nine of their previous meetings. Top seed Novak Djokovic also made it through, battling his way past Filip Krajinovic to reach the last-eight here for the 14th straight year.
