Tennis: Karolina Pliskova beats Katerina Siniakova in first round of Rogers Cup

Karolina Pliskova enjoyed good form in her first match since taking a break to get married, as she dispatched her Czech compatriot Katerina Siniakova in straight sets in the first round of the Rogers Cup. The first set went with serve until Pliskova broke in the tenth game, taking it 6-4. Siniakova put up a fight in the second set, breaking back in the seventh game, but she could not hold back the former world number one in the tenth game. Pliskova won the game, the set 6-4 and wrapped up the match in one hour and 30 minutes.
