Tennis: Coric beats Vesely in first round of Dubai Tennis Championships

Sixth seed Borna Coric came through a third set tie-break to beat Lucky Loser Jiri Vesely in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships. It turned out to be a much harder contest than the Croatian might have expected. He won the first set 7-5 but lost the second 6-3 to set up a decider. The third went with serve to send the match into a tie-break, which Coric won 7-4, completing victory over the Czech in two hours and 49 minutes. He'll play another Czech in the second round, Thomas Berdych.
