Tennis: Djokovic overcomes slow start to reach 14th-straight Rome quarter-final

Novak Djokovic survived a first set scare to secure his 14th consecutive Rome Masters quarter-final appearance, defeating countryman Filip Krajinovic 7-6, 6-3 on Friday. After exchanging opening service games, the top seeded Serbian fended off a further two break points before edging the closely contested first set with nine points in the tiebreaker. It was a different story in the second, with Djokovic racing to a 3-1 lead before notching his fourth break of the match to wrap up the straight sets win. Next up for the 17-time Grand Slam winner is Germany’s Dominik Koepfer, following his straight sets victory over home favourite Lorenzo Musetti.
