T10 Cricket dead-end for 10 years, says Kanthi D Suresh

The ICC event schedule confirmed through to 2031 sees a clear focus on growing ODI, T20, and reviving Test cricket. ICC Expands Men's ODI World Cup To 14 Teams From 2027, T20 World Cup To 20 Teams From 2024. The current ICC hierarchy value the overall benefit of global expansion, with the T20 World Cup now taking place every two years from 2024 and increased to 20 teams from 16. The T10 form of Cricket which was expected to be part of the ICC agenda to be introduced as a Olympic Sport, does not see a mention. For a sport to be introduced in the Olympic, it has to serve as a World Championship a couple of times, before being accepted. It is clear with the calendar decided till 2031 that the T10 form of the game is not something that the ICC is keen to develop, and hence it will now not be possible for member boards to encourage the t10 form of the game.
