Football: RB Leipzig suffer shock 3-2 defeat away to struggling Mainz

RB Leipzig led twice but still ended up losing 3-2 on Saturday to strugglers Mainz, who won for the first time in nine German Bundesliga matches. Tyler Adams' opening goal was cancelled out by Moussa Niakhate, but Marcel Halstenberg put Leipzig back in front on the half-hour mark. Niakhate was on target again five minutes later though and Leandro Barreiro's goal five minutes into the second half proved to be the winner. Mainz remain in the relegation places despite picking up the victory, while second-placed Leipzig have now taken just four points from their last four Bundesliga games. Another defeat for Julian Nagelsmann's side means Bayern Munich can go seven points clear at the top of the standings with a win at Schalke on Sunday.
