Thirteen U-23 players who were part of the Indian squad in the SAFF Cup 2018 last month have been summoned by National coach Stephen Constantine for the camp in New Delhi as part of the Senior National Team’s preparation for the International Friendly against People’s Republic China. The 29-member squad will assemble in the Capital for the 2-day camp before they leave for China on October 10, 2018. This is the first time the Senior National Team is travelling to China to play in an International match. The two sides last met in the Nehru Cup in Kochi back in 1997. In order to prepare for the forthcoming AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, India are slated to play a few International friendlies in the coming months and the coach feels “these are the kind of games we need.”
