Officials investigating the case of international golfer Jyoti Randhawa, who was arrested on charges of alleged poaching at a reserve in UP, have found a new trail the misuse of arms licenses issued under the sports quota. Taking the trail seriously the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau has formed a “working group” to investigate this trend. Randhawa, was arrested from Dudhwa Tiger Reserve for allegedly poaching jungle fowl in December with an imported rifle obtained using his sports weapon licence. After spending more than 50 days in jail, he was granted bail by the Allahabad High Court last month.
