The NRAI President Mr. Raninder Singh is happy and relieved that India has got the right to host shooting events of Commonwealth Games 2022. Not only did they manage to safeguard the interest of Indian shooters but they also managed to do it without boycotting the games as a move to stage the 2022 Commonwealth Games archery and shooting competitions in India, six months before Birmingham hosts the rest of the Games, has been approved. The proposal was put forward by India, who threatened to boycott Birmingham 2022 after the shooting was excluded. Both events will take place in Chandigarh in January 2022, with the main Games from 27 July to 7 August. Chandigarh 2022 and Birmingham 2022 will be separately organised and funded, but medals will count towards the overall competition.
