Petra Martic continued her career-best season by reaching her first Premier final at the Zhengzhou Open with a straight-sets defeat of Kristina Mladenovic. The seventh seed's year of milestones continued in fine fashion with a 6-0, 6-3 victory in one hour and seven minutes against the Frenchwoman. In 2019 so far, the Croat has won her maiden title in Istanbul, reached a Grand Slam quarter-final for the first time at the French Open and made her top 20 rankings debut last month. Martic will play Karolina Pliskova for the title after the Czech top seed beat Ajla Tomljanovic 6-3, 6-2.
