Tennis News: Tsitsipas will play his second Masters 1000 finals

It's down to two men Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas for the ATP 1000 Madrid Masters finals. The World No.1 overcame the challenge of Dominic Thiem in straight sets in the first semifinal. On the other hand, the young Greek stunned Rafael Nadal in a three-set tussle late in the evening. The Serb will be going for his third title in the Spanish Capital and will also be aiming to win a record 33 Masters 1000 title, which will tie him with the King of Clay. Moreover, Djokovic is yet to lose a final in Madrid. He beat Nadal in 2011 and Andy Murray in 2016. Also, the 31-year-old is yet to drop a set in this tournament. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old will be playing only his second final at the Masters 1000 level. He lost to Nadal in his first final appearance in Toronto last year. Interestingly, Djokovic and Tsitsipas have met only once before and it was the Greek who came out on top in 2018. Tsitsipas also remains one of the few players on tour to have beaten the Big-3--Roger Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.
