Tennis News : Kvitova survives Keys challenge to advance in Cincinnati

Petra Kvitova defeated Madison Keys 7-5 6-4 in their opening-round match at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, USA, on Monday. The Czech looked set to cruise to victory as she broke Keys in the opening game, but the American had plenty of fight and broke back soon after. She pushed Kvitova as far as she could, but the Czech was able to take the set and broke Keys again in the opening game of the second before rounding out the match.
