Divij Sharan has become the No.1 doubles player in India overtaking Rohan Bopanna after the latest shuffle in the ATP rankings. Sharan has moved to 38th in world rankings whereas Bopanna slipped to 39th which led to the change at the top spot. Sharan was earlier ranked two places higher in July – the same time he reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals – but this is the first time in his career that he has been ranked No.1 in India. Sharan has won one Challenger this season and reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals. He also reached the semi-final stage of various ATP 250 tournaments this year. The left-handed Tennis player partnered Bopanna in getting India a doubles gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
