India's participation in World Table Tennis Championships is in trouble as Table Tennis Federation of India is still awaiting government's clearance. The tournament will be held in Budapest in Hungary. The International Table Tennis Federation has already expressed its displeasure to TTFI over the delay in sending the complete itinerary of the Indian team. It has threatened to impose a penalty on the TTFI if the travelling plan doesn't reach it soon. The championship will carry important ranking points for Tokyo Olympics qualifiers. An eight-member Indian team including Manika Batra, Achanta Sharath Kamal, G Sathiyan, Manav Thakkar and Harmeet Desai is scheduled to participate in the event. TTFI is worried that there is very little time is left for the processing of the visa application and the last date for participating nations to send their itineraries has already expired.
