Motorsport: World champion Rea second fastest on day one of Catalunya testing

Ducati's Scott Redding beat World Champion Jonathan Rea on Wednesday on day one of the unofficial testings in Catalunya. The private testing was the second testing since the COVID-19 lockdown, where not all teams participated. With track temperatures reaching over 47 degrees, the pair battled it out but it was the reigning champion Rea who took second-place - just under a tenth of a second slower than his Ducati opponent. Yamaha's Loris Baz finished third, just over two tenths off Redding's time, he also held off Championship leader Alex Lowes. The Championship announced in June that they will resume the season on the 31st July with the first race being held at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain.
