Mark Scheifele, Riley Sheahan and Mark Scheifele each scored a goal for their respective teams in the second period. After two periods of play, the Jets led the Penguins 3-2. Five minutes into the third period Derek Grant scored his first goal of the season for the Penguins, thus tying the game 3-3. Zach Aston-Reese scored later in the third period to give the Penguins a 4-3 advantage. The Penguins won the game 4-3.
