Hockey News: Cheating case registered against former India hockey captain

Legendry hockey player, three time Olympian and former India hockey team captain N Mukesh Kumar has landed in trouble after a cheating case was registered against him and his brother. He allegedly obtained fake Caste certificates to securing job in a state-run airlines. N Mukesh Kumar had featured in three Olympic Games in Barcelona (1992), Atlanta (1996) and Sydney (2000). Mukesh represented India in 307 international matches and scored 80 goals. In the 1992 Barcelona Olympics he scored four goals, in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics he scored two goals, and in the 2000 Sydney Olympics he netted two goals. Mukesh was conferred with the Arjuna Award in the year 1995. He has also been awarded with the Padma Shri award in 2013.
