Golf : Louis Oosthuizen shoots 62 to lead South African Open after first round

Home favourite Louis Oosthuizen surged into the first round lead in the South African Open in Johannesburg on Thursday after shooting a brilliant nine-under par 62. The former Open champion fired nine birdies and nine pars in his flawless round and leads by one shot from Zambia's Madalitso Muthiya and American Kurt Kitayama, winner of last week's Mauritius Open. Another South African, Zander Lombard shot a 64 to lie two shots back - one ahead of a group including England's Matt Wallace, a three-time winner on the European Tour in 2018. South Africa's former Masters, U.S. Open and (British) Open champion Ernie Els will also be pleased with his start, a five under-par 66
