Sporting went 13 points clear at the top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga standings after beating Portimonense 2-0 in rainy Lisbon on Saturday. Zouhair Feddal tapped the home side ahead in the 27th minute after his initial shot was stopped by Portimonense goalkeeper Samuel. Sporting doubled their lead less than four minutes later when Nuno Santos beat Samuel at his near post, and the 'Lions' eased to their tenth win in 11 league games. Porto will look to close the gap at the top of the standings back to 10 points on Monday when they visit Maritimo.
