Teji Savanier was the star of the show as Montpellier earned a 2-1 win over Lyon on Tuesday. The midfielder scored twice for the hosts in a match that saw both teams finish with 10 men. Savanier opened the scoring from the spot, before Lyon star Houssem Aouar was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge. Savanier then doubled Montpellier's lead on the hour mark, but they were given a scare when Vitorino Hilton conceded a penalty 10 minutes from full-time. Hilton was dismissed for the challenge and Memphis Depay duly converted the penalty, but Montpellier held out to secure victory.
