Football News: Sunil Chhetri receives 'Football Ratna' award

India’s national football captain Sunil Chhetri has been awarded the first ever Football Ratna honour by Football Delhi. The governing body for football in the Capital conferred the honour on India’s leading international goal scorer at a glittering ceremony at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Delhi Football president Shaji Prabhakaran presented the honour at a function which was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Chhetri, who was recently named as the 6th Indian Footballer in the elite Padma Shri list expressed delight after receiving the award and assured all kind of support from his side for development of football in the capital city.
