Football News : Sporting thump Maritimo 5-1 to cap Primeira Liga season

Primeira Liga champions Sporting finished their season in style with a thumping 5-1 victory over Maritimo in Lisbon on Wednesday. Pedro Goncalves had a day out, finding himself in the right place at the right time to score in the 7th and 19th minutes. Antreas Karo made it 3-0 for Sporting before half time, when he passed to Charles, who let the ball slip under his foot and into the net for an own goal. After the break Goncalves completed his hattrick and Gonzalo Plata scored a belting goal when Charles tried to clear the ball, but only sent it direct to Plata who lobbed it over the keeper to score. Stefano Beltrame scores a consolation goal for Maritimo in the 89th minute.
