Chelsea's pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has apparently received a boost.
The Blues have already been proactive in their search for new players this summer, bringing in Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to bolster their offensive options.
Mauricio Pochettino appears to be looking for a new center-back, central midfielder, and a player who can play a variety of roles in the final third.
While other players have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, speculation about a possible approach for Mbappe persists.
With the France international refusing to renew his contract at Parc des Princes, PSG is desperate to find a buyer for his talents, which currently appears improbable.
No European team is willing to pay a high price for a player who PSG believes is eager to join Real Madrid in a year's time, making a loan exit a viable option.
Earlier this week, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp dismissed the possibility of Mbappe signing on such terms at Anfield, although Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is rumoured to have spoken with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Although it is unclear whether those conversations progressed, Sport believes that the Premier League club is still interested in signing Mbappe.
According to the report, while Mbappe has no desire to accept a permanent contract with Chelsea, he is open to a one-year loan spell in West London.
Mbappe is determined to keep control of his own future, indicating that he is willing to remain on the outskirts of Luis Enrique's squad if he does not obtain his desired move soon.
PSG have already dropped Mbappe from their plans for the new season and are reportedly working hard to find a successor, who according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano may be Benfica's Goncalo Ramos.
Furthermore, Sport claims that a loan deal would not suit either PSG or Chelsea, although a solution may be required.
Real Madrid supposedly made no attempt to recruit Mbappe this summer, knowing that their long-term goal will become a free agency at the end of June.
