Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly been instructed that they must make a £150 million bid to grab Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are thought to have identified the Nigeria international as their top target for the forthcoming transfer window, with both teams looking to bring in new strikers.
According to Il Mattino, Napoli would be willing to sell Osimhen this summer if they got a bid of around £150 million, with the Italian club expecting a flurry of interest at the end of the season.
According to the report, the Italian giants are under no pressure to sell the forward and will therefore stick to their £150 million asking price.
Osimhen is rumoured to want to join Manchester United, but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are willing to pay Napoli's asking price.
Man United are also interested in Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, but it is uncertain whether Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would sell to a domestic rival.
Osimhen has been in superb form for Napoli this season, scoring 25 goals and contributing five assists in 29 games across all competitions.
The forward has scored four goals in five Champions League games for the Blues, who are presently preparing for the competition's quarter-finals.
Osimhen has also scored 21 goals and provided five assists in 23 Serie A appearances for Napoli, who are 19 points ahead of second-placed Lazio.
The Nigerian joined Naples from Lille in September 2020, and he has made 91 appearances for the Italian team, scoring 53 goals and providing 14 assists.
When asked directly about interest from the 20-time English champions last week, Osimhen refused to rule out a summer move to Manchester United.
"I don't know what the future holds. I think I'm on the right track. At the end of the season, I will sit down with my agents and discuss everything,"
he told Sport1.
"I will also be in talks with the club. I am incredibly grateful to Napoli. We will find a good solution together."
Man United have also been connected with Osimhen's colleague Kim Min-jae, with a recent story claiming that the Red Devils were planning a double swoop this summer.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are hoping to bring in a new center-forward in the upcoming transfer window, despite their massive spending in the last two transfer windows.
