According to reports, Manchester United has intensified its search for Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries. The Red Devils' two primary right-back options right now are Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka but Wan-Bissaka was said to be on the move in January and could leave this summer.
The 26-year-old was able to play a number of games due to Dalot's recent injury problems. Thus, United decide to keep him keeping him at Old Trafford until the summer transfers.
Wan-Bissaka has started seven of United's nine Premier League games since the World Cup break, but it is still unclear what the future of the club has for the Englishman.
Dumfries has been mentioned as a potential choice for the Red Devils. While Manchester United evaluate the possibilities of recruiting a new right-back in the summer. Sport Witness cites Gazzetta dello Sport as saying that Man United have intensified their pursuit of the 26-year-old.
The player's agents are reportedly interested in a transfer, and talks with Manchester United are progressing. Dumfries, whose contract with Inter runs through June 2025, has made 25 appearances this season and provided two goals and three assists.
If Dumfries does depart the team in the summer, Inter has already chosen Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui as a successor.
Following the signing of Joao Cancelo from Manchester City, Mazraoui has dropped down the pecking order. If the Portuguese international makes his loan move a permanent one, the Bavarians may let Mazraoui leave.
In a recent report, it was stated that Chelsea, who have also been linked with Dumfries, were prepared to offer Trevoh Chalobah in exchange.
Inter, however, is unable to accept such an offer since they only want a "cash only" transaction because they need the money to make a sizable offer for Mazraoui.
Inter is thought to be waiting for any proposals since they won't accept anything less than €50m (£44m).
