Tottenham Hotspur's record signing Tanguy Ndombele has returned to Olympique Lyon on loan during Monday's transfer deadline day, with the French club stating they have an option to buy the 25-year-old.

Meanwhile, English Premier League side Everton are close to completing a permanent deal for Tottenham's Dele Alli.

New Everton manager Frank Lampard believes he can rebuild the 25-year-old's career that has stalled in recent years, with Alli having featured just six times under 'Spurs' boss Antonio Conte.

Everton aim to complete a permanent deal on a two-and-a-half-year contract because their loan quota is taken up with the signings of Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa and Manchester United's Donny van de Beek.
