India bowed out of the Hero Gold Cup after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Myanmar at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, finishing third in the group with three points in three matches. Despite the early exit, Indian coach Maymol Rocky was positive while assessing the team's performance, stating that this tournament gave the Indian women’s team the exposure they needed. Coach Maymol picked a relatively young side for the Hero Gold Cup, with a number of youngsters donning their senior India colours for the first time. To talk about the experience of the Women’s gold cup and future plans of the Indian women’s team we are joined by young forward Anju Tamang who scored against Iran to help India clinch their opening game of the tournament.
