Football News: Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha willing to make Chelsea move

Attacker Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace reportedly wants to sign with Chelsea during the current transfer window.

For a number of years, it has been predicted that the Ivory Coast international will leave Selhurst Park, yet window after window has passed with the attacker still under contract with Palace.

However, Zaha's current contract with the Eagles only has one year left, which places the team in an awkward position with regard to his future. The 29-year-old might depart on a free transfer at the end of the season so, Patrick Vieira's team might be willing to reclaim a little price for the winger while they still have the opportunity.

Zaha, a former target of Arsenal, was briefly mentioned as a transfer target for Roma earlier this summer, but Jose Mourinho's team appears to have lost interest after bringing Paulo Dybala to the club.

Talk SPORT now says that the former Manchester United player might be willing to join Chelsea instead. And that the attacker's agents are 'encouraging' the Blues to make a move for him.

According to the source, Zaha's contract with Crystal Palace will not be renewed, Moreover, he is aware that time is running out to complete a lucrative transfer to a Champions League-playing team.

Zaha only made four senior games for Manchester United before making a permanent return to Crystal Palace in 2015. He had previously progressed through Selhurst Park's youth divisions.

Since then, the Ivorian has amassed 83 goals and 73 assists in 430 games for the Eagles in all competitions, and his 14 goals last season were his most in the Premier League.

Zaha played the whole 90 minutes in Palace's 2-0 loss to Arsenal on Friday, but Vieira has brought in young players like Michael Olise and Malcolm Ebiowei to prepare the team for the future.

With Romelu Lukaku going for Inter Milan on loan and Raheem Sterling joining from Manchester City, Chelsea's offence may see a substantial reorganisation in the upcoming weeks.

After a disastrous two-year stint at Stamford Bridge, Timo Werner is reportedly close to returning to RB Leipzig. The striker's return to his native country may be announced on Monday.

The futures of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech at the West London club are also far from certain, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is rumoured to have sought to depart in search of regular playing time.

Thomas Tuchel might prioritise acquiring forward reinforcements as a result for the remainder of the transfer window, and just seven months after the 33-year-exit old's from Arsenal, a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been suggested.

Chelsea defeated Everton 1-0 at the weekend thanks to a Jorginho penalty. On Sunday, the Blues will host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
