Football: 'It hasn't all been peace and quiet at the club' Flick after announcement

Bayern Munich head coach Hans-Dieter Flick has rejected the notion that his intention to leave the club before his contract expires in 2023 has had any effect on the squad. Speaking on the eve of Bayern's Bundesliga encounter with Bayer Leverkusen on Monday, Flick said that the last few weeks "haven't been all peace and quiet for the team," but the players "are always focused on football - and also on success." Flick will have to do without top striker Robert Lewandowski for another game, though as the Polish international has yet to recover fully from injury. "Robert's looking very good, but I think the game against Leverkusen has come too soon.," Flick said. "We're hoping he'll be with us on Saturday." Bayen currently hold a seven-point lead the standings over RB Lepzig, with just five games left in the campaign and record-extending 31st German title is within their reach. "I've had a great and successful time here, which hopefully will carry on for a little longer," Flick said.
