Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund suffered a 2-1 defeat to Augsburg at the WWK Arena on Friday - a loss which means rivals Bayern Munich can move level at the top on 54 points should they win at Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday. The hosts took a 24th minute lead when the dangerous Ji Dong-Won lifted the ball into the top corner, after he had his initial shot blocked by Dortmund's Manuel Akanji. Augsburg doubled that advantage past the hour when Achraf Hakimi's terrible ball across his own backline was seized upon by Ji, who expertly chipped the ball over visiting goalkeeper Roman Burki. Spain international Paco Alcacer steered in a late consolation for Dortmund after being picked out by Mario Gotze. Dortmund suffered just a second league defeat this term, as Augsburg's local rivals Bayern receive a boost.
