Host nation United Arab Emirates knocked out defending AFC Asian Cup champions Australia with one goal on Friday in a quarter-final in Al Ain. There were chances at both ends of the field but the decisive moment came in the 68th minute. Ali Mabkhout capitalised on a Milos Degenek backpass and scored. The Australians couldn't find a way back and UAE will now take on Qatar in the semi-finals of the 2019 tournament.
