RASHID KHAN ACHIEVES A MILESTONE OF 400 T20 WICKETS Afghanistan's premier leg-spinner Rashid Khan picks up his 400th wicket in competitive T20 cricket during the ICC T20 World Cup match against New Zealand. The 23-year-old spinner reached the milestone when he dismissed New Zealand opener Martin Guptill at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Rashid achieved the feat in his 289th T20 match. Only three other bowlers have crossed the 400-wicket mark in T20 cricket. Dwayne Bravo, the first to reach the feat in 364 matches, also became the first bowler to cross 500 T20 wickets.Two other bowlers that followed him to the feat are Imran Tahir in 320 matches and Sunil Narine in 362 matches. Rashid also holds the record for most T20 scalps in a calendar year, having picked a staggering 96 wickets in 2018. Naming a star-studded playing XI of cricketers, both active and inactive, Harbhajan notably left out from his list India captain Virat Kohli. The team includes India's Rohit Sharma and West Indies great Chris Gayle as openers, followed by England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler and former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson. South African star AB de Villiers is next at No. 5, followed by former India captain MS Dhoni. The West Indies trio of Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine is next, followed by former Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga and India's Jasprit Bumrah. ABU DHABI INDIAN CURATOR MOHAN SINGH DIES The Abu Dhabi cricket stadium's Indian chief curator, Mohan Singh, was found dead in his room on Sunday hours before the T20 World Cup game between Afghanistan and New Zealand in Abu Dhabi. According to UAE Cricket sources, the 45-year-old, who hailed from Uttarakhand, was suffering from depression and was found hanging in his room, hours after inspecting the pitch for the clash that NZ won by 8 wickets to enter the semifinals. Both Abu Dhabi Cricket and the International Cricket Council paid tributes to him but did not reveal the cause of death.
