Cricket News: South African quick Dale Steyn retires from Test cricket

South Africa pacer Dale Steyn has announced his decision to retire from Test cricket. Steyn, 36, played 93 Tests from 2004 to 2019 and picked 439 wickets. Steyn, who played his first Test against England at Port Elizabeth in December 2004, also played his last Test at the same venue against Sri Lanka on February 2019. Dale Steyn was part of South Africa's 2019 World Cup squad but he returned home without playing a single match following a second shoulder injury. During the 2019 Indian Premier League, Steyn had played 2 matches for Royal Challegers Bangalore and picked 4 wickets. Steyn is the second big name to retire for South Africa in recent times. In 2018, AB de Villiers retired from all forms of international cricket but he continues to play in different T20 leagues around the world. Dale Steyn is South Africa's leading wicket-taker in Test cricket and is 8th in the list of highest wicket-takers overall in the longest format.
