Bangalore registered a huge win over Kolkata beating them by 82 runs in Sharjah. AB de Villiers struck a masterclass of 73 not out from just 33 balls. His partnership with Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli was worth 100 runs in just 7.4 overs to take Bangalore from a steady start to an imposing total of 194/2 in 20 overs. De Villiers came in with RCB 94/2 in 12.2 overs and a platform set for the final-overs assault. Captain Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 33 off 28 balls. Opener Aaron Finch scored 37-ball 47 to give Bangalore a brisk start. In reply Kolkata's batting came a complete cropper losing key wickets of Shubman Gill, Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell in the space of two overs, and were restricted to 112/9. Chris Morris and Washington Sundar took two wickets each for Bangalore. AB de Villiers earned the 'Player of the match' award for his superlative performance. Bangalore have moved up to the third spot in the points table in the ongoing IPL following their emphatic win over Kolkata. Two time champions Kolkata have slipped to 4th spot in points table from 3rd spot.
