Indian team is announced for Australia's tour comprising 4 Test matches, 3 One-day Internationals and 3 Twenty20 Internationals. Surprisingly India's limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma has not been picked in any of the three squads as he is battling a hamstring injury with BCCI saying that their medical team will continue to monitor his progress. KL Rahul has replaced Rohit in the longest format. This is the first time that KL Rahul has been named vice-captain of the Indian team. Another notable omission from the Test squad is of veteran pacer Ishant Sharma who is ruled out of IPL due to rib injury. BCCI's medical team will also keep track of his progress. Rishabh Pant is not part of both the limited-overs squad with Sanju Samson included as a backup keeper in the shortest format while KL Rahul included as the only wicket-keeper in ODI squad. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also not a part of any of the three squads due to thigh muscle injury.
