India absolutely decimated Bangladesh to win the 1st Test match of the 2 match series at the Holkar Stadium in Indore within 3 day and by an innings and 130 runs. India decided to declare their 1st innings on the overnight score of 493 for 6, with a healthy lead of 343 runs. In reply, Bangladesh got off to the worst possible start and lost 4 wickets before the lunch break. Despite some resistance shown by former skipper Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh were bundled out for just 213 runs in their 2nd innings. For India, Mohammad Shami picked up 4 wickets, Ashwin picked up 3, Umesh Yadav picked up 2 and Ishant Sharma scalped 1.
