Delhi beat Punjab in super-over to kickstart their IPL 2020 campaign on a winning note at the Dubai International Stadium. It was the first super over of the IPL 2020 where Kagiso Rabada bowled brilliantly to bowl out Punjab for 2 runs which Shreyas Iyer led Delhi side chased down quite comfortably in the end. Put into bat Delhi Capitals struggled to get going but a belligerent 21-ball 53-run knock helped Marcus Stoinis take Delhi's total to 157 for 8 in 20 overs. Mohammad Shami bagged 3 wickets in 4 overs and was Punjab's star performer. While Chasing 158-run target Punjab got off to a worst possible start losing wickets in heaps but Mayank Agarwal stood like a rock to take Punjab close to the target. In the end the match ended in a tie and went to the super-over. Marcus Stoinis all-round performance with both bat and ball helped him bag the man of the match award.
