The BCCI has come out and made it clear that the ICC has no locus standi in the IPL in any way whatsoever. According to the BCCI's new constitution, the Governing Council is the league's final authority and all decision with regards to the IPL will be taken by them. The BCCI CEO Rahul Johri has also given a statement saying “ The BCCI is of the firm view that the IPL is a domestic property of the BCCI while also stating the BCCI will not take kindly to any attempt to tamper with the IPL in a direct or a roundabout manner" On ICC's move to set up a working group to put in place same minimum criteria (as IPL) and operate within a consistent framework, BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry said: "The ICC is good with words but the substance of their intent is pretty obvious over the past couple of years.” The ICC though on the other hand has stated that it does not wish to interfere in the running of the IPL.
