The Indian women's cricket team are in New Zealand to play one-day international and twenty20 international series for the first time since the coach fiasco. Since that major controversy, the Indian women's team will take the field in the blue jersey for the first time and will have a stiff challenge in New Zealand. The entire Indian Women’s cricket team underwent an upheaval, after the disappointing World T20 in West Indies and the turnaround that followed. There was a massive fallout between India's star player Mithali Raj and then-coach Ramesh Powar, and that saw the latter's exit from the team. However, as claimed by Mithali and Harmanpreet Kaur they have put their differences behind and have moved on. The upcoming series against New Zealand thus presents a perfect opportunity for the women’s team to bury the ghosts of the past and start afresh. India will play three ODIs and three T20Is against New Zealand from January 24 to February 10.
