Cricket News: 4th Ashes Test gets underway at Old Trafford on Thursday

Australia received a massive boost ahead of the fourth Ashes Test as star batsman Steve Smith was named in the 12-man squad for the crucial clash against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, starting tomorrow. However, time seems to have run out for Usman Khawaja with the left-hander making way for Steve Smith. James Pattinson was also left out with Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Peter Siddle set to vie for the three spots. Selectors named David Warner and Marcus Harris as openers but left out Khawaja, who has averaged just 20.33 in six innings in the Ashes 2019, batting at number three.
