Acting on complaints received from the DDCA president Rajat Sharma and chairman of the senior selection committee DDCA Amit Bhandari, the Delhi police has arrested the disgruntled Under-23 player Anuj Dedha and his brother Naveen from their hideout for allegedly assaulting Amit Bhandari who is also a former India player. The incident occurred around 1.30 p.m. at the St. Stephen's Ground in north Delhi where the trials of the Under-23 team were going on. The attackers were suspected to be U-23 aspirants who reportedly were not selected in the team. Bhandari was attacked with iron rods and hockey sticks at the trials before being rushed to a hospital by his co-selector Sukhvinder Singh. The goons fled the spot before the police could arrive.
