It’s not anymore just a game of chair and administrative turmoil in the All India Chess Federation, the matter has now gone to another level of forgery, misappropriation of funds and favouritism, which is putting everything happening in AICF associations to shame. In 2019, the All Marathi Chess Association, Maharashtra State organised World Youth Chess Championship between 1-13th October in Mumbai, and for the arrangement of this competition Rs 2 Crores were approved for the association by the govt. Now after the competition got over, the competition report was submitted and it was found out that remaining balance from the total amount including govt assistance and sponsors was Rs 1,10,51,425, which the association had to return to the government. A letter has been accessed by Power Sportz wherein Commissioner Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra State, Pune has asked the All Marathi Chess Association to return the money to the govt and also said that not doing the same will cause a legal criminal action.
