The BWF Badminton World Championships 2019 will see PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal looking to enter the third round of the tournament in Basel, Switzerland. Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu will lock horns against Pai Yu Po in round 2 of Women's Singles. Sindhu has faced Pai a total of two times in her career, winning both encounters. Pai is presently ranked World No. 45 and had last faced Sindhu in the Badminton Asia Championships 2018. London Olympics bronze medallist Saina Nehwal will face Soraya de Visch Eijbergen. The two have not faced each other in a competitive outing before, although the odds are heavily in favour of Saina who is the World No. 8 ranked shuttler at the moment. In men's singles Kidambi Srikanth will take on Misha Zilberman. Srikanth has never come across the Israeli shuttler in a competitive outing before. Against an unknown opponent, the Indian would look to do better than he did in the first round where he survived a scare, beating unseeded Irish shuttler Nhat Nguyen 17-21, 21-16, 21-6.
