Wrestling News; Trials deferred by India for wrestling world meet

The Wrestling Federation of India has postponed trials for the World Wrestling Championship in Serbia from December 12-20. This was after the executive committee meeting of United World Wrestling (UWW) was rescheduled to November 12. WFI assistant-secretary Vinod Tomar said that trials of the Indian teams would be done only after UWW decides about the December event. Also, when it comes to India’s wrestling star Bajrang Punia then coming two weeks will be crucial for him as the World No 2 in 65kg is going to tie the knot with Sangita Phogat on November 25. He will hardly have time to spend at home. Even if the World Championships scheduled in Serbia from December 12-20 is cancelled, soon after the marriage Bajrang will leave for the USA on an exposure trip.
