Wheelchair-bound Syrian couple continue sporting journey in Canada

Para-athlete Dema is training to participate in the Canadian Table Tennis Championships. Syrian couple came to Canada in 2017 as government-sponsored refugees. Dema suffered from a medical error after a car accident at the age of three while her 35-year old husband Osama was born with Polio. Dema has won numerous table tennis national and international championships and Osama is a para basketball and weightlifting champion. Dema Joha has received support from the local community of Canada to participate in the championship.
