UFC: Khabib Nurmagomedov opens up on loss of his father as he prepares for next fight

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov admits he doesn't know how the loss of his father will affect his preparations for his fight with current interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje in October. Nurmagomedov has been mourning the loss of his father, Abdulmanap, who passed away in July after a battle with Covid-19. "We had a very close relationship. Of course, I worry very much and if I told you with a stone face that nothing is affecting my concentration, that would be a lie," he said. "I think about him. I don't know, maybe these feelings will take me to another level and make me stronger. "We will see with time what will come out of this," he said. Nurmagomedov added retirement is on his mind, but is yet to make a firm decision on his future.
