Tokyo Olympics : Day-7: Sindhu, Atanu & Satish advance to QF, Mary Kom ousted

Six time world champion MC Mary Kom loses to Rio Olympics Bronze medallist Ingrit Valencia of Colombia 2-3 in women's 51 Kg weight category Rd of 16. So, it is the end of the Olympic journey as well as the career for legendary pugilist Mary Kom. India's star badminton player PV Sindhu defeated Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark 21-15 21-13 in the Round of 16 and booked a place in the quarterfinals of women's singles event. India men beat Argentina 3-1 in their Pool A game to enter the quarterfinals. Varun, Vivek Sagar and Harmanapreet scored for India, which means Manpreet Singh's team will finish at least second in the pool. Atanu Das beats South Korea's Oh Jin-hyek 6-5 to win the 1/16 Elimination match, to advance to the quarter-final of the men's individual recurve event. Earlier in the day archer Atanu Das had beaten Chinese Taipei's Yu-Cheng Deng 6-4 to win the 1/32 Elimination match. Satish Kumar beats Ricardo Brown of Jamaica 4-1 in Round of 16 in men's +91 Kg weight category, to advance to the quarter-finals where he will face Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan. India’s Manu Bhaker was placed fifth and Rahi Sarnobat 25th, after the first precision round of qualifying in the Women’s 25M Air Pistol at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics Shooting competitions at the Asaka Shooting range. Manu shot an excellent 292 out of 300 while Rahi shot 287, and both can make it among the top eight-finalists, on the back of a very good second rapid-fire round.
