Tokyo Olympics : Athletes will put on their own medals at Tokyo Olympics for COVID safety

Athletes will have to collect and present their own medals on the podium at the Tokyo Olympics due to COVID safety rules. IOC president Thomas Bach confirmed the unprecedented arrangement during a conference call with reporters on Wednesday. Bach said presenters wearing disinfected gloves will place the gold, silver and bronze medals on a tray. The athlete will then pick up their medal themselves and place it around their own neck.
